Meebs helps you decide what to buy. This page explains what Meebs collects when you use the website and the Chrome extension, why, and what you can do about it. Meebs is operated by Zero CO2 LLC (“Meebs”, “we”).

What you type in the chat

When you ask Meebs what to buy, we receive your message and any link you paste. Our server sends your messages in that chat to Anthropic, the AI provider that turns them into a request (what you want, how you’ll use it, any budget) and answers your follow-up and general questions. For a question about a result, it also sends that decision’s public part. Your browser never talks to Anthropic directly.

Anthropic processes this text on our behalf under its commercial terms and does not use it to train its models.

We keep your chat with the decision it produced, linked to an anonymous session id, so the decision link keeps working.

Your own words stay private. They never appear on a shared decision page, in its preview image, or in the extension.

Your account and saved chats

You can ask one question without an account. To keep going, you sign in with a code we email you, with a password if you set one, or with Google.

Your account holds your email address and the chats you have with Meebs: what you asked, Meebs’s answers, and the decisions as they were on the day. Only you can see them.

Before you sign in, your one question stays in your browser. To keep the free question to one, we set a cookie that counts it, and keep a scrambled form of your IP address for the rest of the day. We can’t turn it back into your address, and it’s deleted the next day.

If you give Meebs your ZIP code to find shops near you, it stays in your browser. If you’re signed in, Meebs also keeps it on your account so you don’t have to type it again. It’s never in a shared link.

If you tap Use my location, your browser’s location is used on your device to find the nearest city Meebs covers. It isn’t sent to Meebs or stored, and it’s gone when you leave the page.

If you set a password, Supabase stores only a scrambled form of it (a hash). Meebs never sees or stores your password.

Shared decision pages

Every decision has its own link. Anyone with the link can see the public part: the Meebs Pick, the alternatives, prices, sources and how confident Meebs is.

The public part never includes what you typed, your budget, your location, shops near you, or your chat.

When you share a decision, Meebs saves a copy as it is that day at its own link. It shows the prices as of that date and never changes. Anyone with the link can read it. The copy holds the decision only: not your words, your chat, your ZIP or shops near you. You need an account to share, and deleting your account deletes your shared copies.

Usage events

To learn whether Meebs is useful, we log a few events: a request (and whether we cover it), a clarifying question, a decision view, choosing an option, clicking through to a shop, sharing, opening a shared link, a follow-up question, and the result of a pasted link.

Each event carries a random session id created in your browser. We don’t record your IP address, name, email or anything else that identifies you with an event.

Meebs sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The session id lives in your browser’s session storage and is gone when you close the tab.

Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to limit abuse (for example, at most 25 chat requests every 10 minutes).

The Chrome extension

The extension reads the page you’re on only when you click its icon, and then only the page’s title and address. It never reads the rest of the page or your browsing history.

The panel itself is a Meebs web page, loaded from our website when you open it, like any visit to the site. Nothing the extension reads goes with it: the title and address stay in your browser until you tap a reply or ask Meebs about the product. Then Meebs receives the product’s name from the title, as if you’d typed it.

It keeps the page it last read in Chrome’s storage on your device, and forgets it when you switch tabs or close Chrome.

It never adds affiliate links or cookies to the pages you visit.

The extension’s use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who handles data for us

  • Vercel hosts the website and its server.
  • Anthropic reads chat messages to turn them into requests and answer questions.
  • Supabase stores decisions, usage events, accounts, saved chats and shared copies, and sends sign-in emails.

How long we keep it

We keep chats and usage events for up to 12 months, then delete them. Public decision pages and shared copies stay up so shared links keep working, until you delete your account or ask us to remove one.

Your choices

You can ask one question without an account.

To ask us to delete a chat, a shared copy or a decision, email help@meebs.app with its link.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete information about you. Email us and we’ll respond within 30 days.

Children

Meebs is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
